Eugene Website Design Process
Our Website Design ProcessWondering how we work with you to make a website? Not sure you’ve done enough research or understand the technology options available to you? Here’s a description of how our web development process works. You’ll see how closely you, the client, are guided through the process and given both guidance and control.
Phase 1 – The Discovery SessionThe website process starts with an interview. We sit down with you, in person whenever possible, and talk about who you are, what you do, and what you want in a website. We’d love to see your business in action to find out about your company culture. While we talk, we’ll ask you a series of questions to find out what you are looking for – even if you don’t know what that is yet. We’ll also talk about visual styles, layout, logos, and all of our marketing options.
Phase 2 – The MockupOnce we have a feeling for what you want, one of our designers will then sit down and begin to conceptualize your design – sometimes they start with a computer, sometimes by hand. After some thinking, exploring, sketching, and refining, several “mockups” will be created. These mockups are still images that show what the website can look like. We’ll present these mockups to you, and allow you to choose one. Not satisfied with any of them? We’ll make another one, free of charge. Once you’ve selected a mockup, we’ll go through a few rounds of revisions with you, and end up with a beautiful snapshot of what your site will become.
Phase 4 – The ContentWith the template reviewed and finalized, it’s time to put the content into your website. You did write the content, didn’t you? This is often a tricky part for clients who are suddenly required to come up with new text and pictures. Don’t worry, we’ll warn you ahead of time and we’ll help you get the job done, even if that means taking out our digital camera or cracking our knuckles and writing some copy for you.
Phase 5 – The LaunchOnce the content is in place, we’ll stress test, proofread, and triple-check the website to perfection. On the final day, we’ll ceremoniously launch your website onto the World Wide Web where it can be seen by the world. If you like, we’ll also post it to our portfolio, which benefits both of us.
